Unique Collaboration Conference Draws Crowds
Nearly 700 service providers and IPMG case management professionals from around the state will be meeting on May 1 for a history-making conference. "Let's Collaborate: Creating Success in a Person-Centered World" is a one-day conference sponsored by IPMG that will focus on collaboration between providers and case management professionals.
For the first time in the history of the Medicaid waiver services in Indiana, "Let's Collaborate" brings together the leadership of service provider agencies and IPMG case management professionals to the same event. These two groups, whose professional focuses are to serve the more than 10,000 Medicaid Waiver recipients with developmental disabilities, will hear from speakers on subjects that are important to both the service provider and the IPMG professional.
"Bringing service provider leadership and IPMG case management professionals together in one event opens the door to creative collaboration, which benefits Waiver recipients across Indiana," said Rich Metzger, IPMG Managing Director. "Our goal for this event is to plant the seeds for growth in the areas that matter to everyone: statewide communication, streamlined processes, and improved understanding of the Consumer's needs."
The day's agenda is set to provide insight on some of the most important issues and topics affecting and changing the field, including person-centered planning and the State of Indiana's important initiative, OASIS. The lineup of guest speakers includes nationally-recognized expert Michael Smull, who will be sharing his views on person-centered thinking, as well as Jim Hammond (INARF), Peter Bisbecos (FSSA), Betty Williams, (ARC), John Dickerson (ARC), Rich Metzger (IPMG), motivational coach Ty Bello, and others.
A number of creative workshops are also being held during the conference, located at the Marriott East hotel in Indianapolis. Topics include collaborative crisis management, person-centered planning, self-advocacy in Indiana, and more. A full, detailed agenda is available for review.
