On April 28, author, scientist, and animal welfare advocate Temple Grandin brought her unique perspective to the Indianapolis Museum of Art's Planet Indy series. During her presentation, Temple described visual ways of processing experience and how her own thinking as a person living with autism led her to become the designer of more humane livestock handling facilities throughout North America. (The 2010 HBO film biography, Temple Grandin, recently won seven Emmy Awards.)
Several IPMG East District employees had the opportunity to meet Grandin, and had copies of her best-selling books, including Thinking in Pictures, Animals in Translation and Animals Make Us Human, signed by the noted author.
