Fort Wayne—IPMG North East Manager of Consumer & Employee Transitions Erin Kreigh was recently recognized for her outstanding efforts in the field of human services by the Fort Wayne Business Weekly.
Kreigh was one of ten award recipients honored as part of the Business Weekly’s inaugural Health Care Heroes awards. The awards recognize Fort Wayne-area professionals who provide exceptional effort and service in the medical and health services fields.
“Erin utilizes her education, her experience, and a genuine desire to support those she serves, and goes beyond the call of her job duties,” said IPMG North East District Director Kevin Griffith, who nominated Kreigh for the award. “These attributes were why I considered her an obvious nominee for this award.”
As the sole provider of case management services for the State of Indiana, IPMG works with Hoosiers receiving an Autism, Developmental Disabilities, or Support Services Waiver. Kreigh is one of more than 350 IPMG case management professionals who advocate for the needs, hopes, and dreams of the more than 11,000 Indiana residents who receive these waivers.
Accompanied by her supervisor, Debra Firstbrook, Kreigh accepted her award on October 2 during a ceremony in Fort Wayne. Kreigh’s comments in response to the award were humble and direct, as she stated her appreciation for the recognition and remarked on who the real heroes were to her: the waiver recipients she serves.
“I learn more every day from those I serve than they do from me,” she said. Kreigh’s work with IPMG includes Consumers in Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Elkhart, Huntington, LaGrange, Noble, St. Joseph, Steuben, Wells, and Whitley counties.
Award winners were selected from nominations received by Business Weekly. Newspaper staff members and Health Care Heroes sponsors judged the nominations, selecting a winner and runner-up in five categories: Advancements in Health Care; Community Achievement; Medical Professional; Physician; and Volunteer. Kreigh was runner-up in the Medical Professional category, with Brian Laursen of Fort Wayne Orthopaedics, winner.
IPMG congratulates and applauds Kreigh for her efforts, and for representing the more than 350 IPMG professional statewide who find creative ways to help move IPMG Consumers closer to their dreams.
