The Municipal General Election is quickly approaching as Indiana residents must register to vote by October 11. The election is open November 8 from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. All registered voters in Indiana will be eligible to vote early at their county election board office. You can find your polling place or election board office by visiting http://indianavoters.com or call 1-866-IN-Vote (866-461-8683).
If you are not registered to vote, you can register online here. Be sure to register quickly as the deadline is Tuesday, Oct 11.
Bring with you to the polls a valid photo ID to vote. An Indiana driver’s license, Indiana photo ID card, a military ID, or a passport will work just fine. Whatever photo ID you bring, you must ensure it is current and has an expiration date after November 2, 2010. This will ensure your voting process be quick and easy.
If you have not yet obtained a valid photo ID, the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) will issue a free photo ID card. Make sure to bring proof of residency and identity, such as a birth certificate or passport. For a list of required documents for obtaining an Indiana photo ID, click here.
Don’t miss the opportunity to play your role in the community by voting November 8 for mayor, judges, city officials, and all other people who affect your daily life. See you there!
